Summer and Year-round Bike Coaches!

We call our instructors Coaches – because, like a bicycling team’s coaches, our staff do anything they can to make sure their riders (the kids) have a great time, are kept safe during all of our events, and reach their full potential no matter what program we’re providing. We hire creative and energetic people who love kids, bicycling, adventure and fun; who can lead, mentor and inspire; and who want to expand their own horizons and gain great career experience while working in one of the most exciting and unique day camps in the Bay Area. Coaches are expected to be ambassadors of good bicycling who actively model and demonstrate the skills and attitudes necessary to promote a positive relationship with the public.

Summer camp positions are full time. Preferred candidates will be available for the majority of the summer, plus orientation and training. If you have pre-existing summer or academic plans we’ll try to work with you to accommodate as many weeks as you’re available.

Bicycling skills: qualified candidates are expected to have awesome skills and aptitude for working with kids – this is our fundamental criterion. If you can stay upright on your bike most of the time, and you’re committed to exemplary cyclist behavior, that’s sufficient for many of our camp positions. Participation in our more advanced programs requires appropriate riding skills.

  • Pass a background check.
  • Provide a minimum of two references and verifiable experience.
  • Complete an interview with Wheel Kids’ management.
  • Candidates must provide proof of first aid and CPR certification prior to hire. Wheel Kids may offer training depending on candidates’ schedules.
