Wheel Kids after school programs give kids an opportunity to get outside for exercise, fun, and socialization
PROGRAMS
-
Adventure Riding After School: for elementary school kids looking for fun, bike-oriented activities after school; two- and three-days a week options; three week sessions.
-
Mountain Bike Class: advanced riding program for middle school kids, with an emphasis on MTB skills development and preparation for participating in NorCal mtb racing league; two days a week plus one Saturday field trip; three week sessions
Adventure Riding After School
Adventure Riding After School is just like school-day afternoons should be: riding bikes and playing with friends, letting off steam after a day of school, and acting like, you know, kids! Participants will have a mix of structured and unstructured time for riding, exploring, sports and games, and maybe even some learning. Riding destinations will depend on group skill level, interest, weather, and time; in general, we’ll ride to most of our summertime favorites such as Golden Gate Park, Presidio, and other nearby areas.

REGISTRATION
Registration options will be provided if sessions are scheduled.
Refund & Cancellation
COVID-19 and unhealthy air quality are issues we all may face. Our ability to refund will be impacted by these unknowns and our commitment to our staff. Click here for our refund policy.
Minimum registration for each program and session is required. Registered participants will be notified of cancellation due to insufficient registrations; a full refund will be provided if we must cancel for this reason.
Friends & Siblings
We will try to accommodate friends or siblings who wish to be together. For safety’s sake we try to ensure everyone is riding in the best group for their ability and age, or that more advanced riders know they won’t be riding to their full potential if they want to stay with a friend or sibling who’s a less skilled rider. If you’re registering along with a friend for the same session and wish to be grouped together please let us know.
Different Skills, Different Groups
Each session of Adventure Riding After School is organized into groups of riders based on grade level rather than skill level. Each group’s activities is determined by the abilities of its members. If required by future health department guidelines, different groups may not have activities together and once assigned to a group changes cannot be made.
Waitlist
A waitlist will be established once registration fills. Open spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We don’t know if openings will occur but if a space opens we will begin contacting wait list families immediately; you will have 24 hours to register.
Age & Skill Level
We cannot make exceptions to the age/grade limits and skill level requirements for each program.
Coronavirus Basics
- Face coverings must be used during all off-bike activities. While riding children must have masks readily available and will be encouraged to use a mask whenever possible.
- Absences: Please notify us if your child will be absent and if the absence is health-related.
- Don’t send your child to the program if they’re not feeling well; use extra care while we all try to limit coronavirus spread.
- Stay home: If you suspect your child has had contact with, has symptoms of, or is infected by COVID-19 you must keep them home and follow the San Francisco Health Department guidelines for for testing and returning to programs.
- Sanitation & health supplies such as hand sanitizer and masks must be brought daily. Our staff will have back-up supplies but families tend to have their own product preferences.
