After School BMX

This club is for all the BMX enthusiasts. This session we’ll be riding the Concord Skatepark, working on park etiquette, learning how to respect others and share the space, dropping in, jumping techniques, various tricks, line selection and most importantly have fun while being safe. We’ll also go over some mechanic skills and bike set up.

Helmet required, knee pads, elbow pads and gloves recommended.

Camp Cruisin’ will challenge and inspire your child with unique bike rides and activities in the East Bay and beyond. CC kids are exposed to a variety of bicycle-based activities – daily bike rides, riding skills instruction, bike maintenance, on- and off-street safety skills, share-the-road etiquette, wayfinding, and lots of having fun and messing around on their bikes.

For this one-day camp, we will be riding locally, checking out our favorite trails, playgrounds, the library, and more.

  • Ages: 7 – 11. Level 4+ skill level
  • Where: Drop-off and pick-up will be at WHeel Kids HQ, Walnut Creek.
  • Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm
  • Cost: $175, 10% Sibling Discount Available

Spring Break Adventure Bikepacking Camp

March 30 – April 3

Spring Break Adventure Bikepacking Camp: Angel Island

Our Bikepacking Spring Break Camp is a truly unique adventure for kids and we’re beyond stoked to be offering it. This camp brings together riders from San Francisco, the East Bay, and Palo Alto for an unforgettable bikepacking experience filled with exploration, learning, and fun on two wheels. Campers from all regions will meet up and travel as a single group, riding and camping together while building confidence, independence, and friendships. Along the way, they’ll learn essential bikepacking and camping skills.

Day 1: Groups will meet up to practice the fundamentals of bikepacking – loading gear onto bikes, setting up camp, and riding with fully loaded bikes. This day is all about building skills, confidence, and teamwork before heading out on our big adventure.

Days 2–4: The group will travel to Angel Island, where we’ll spend three days and two nights camping, exploring the island, learning about its history, riding our bikes, lounging on the beach, cooking, playing games and having an all-round blast together.

Day 5: We’ll meet one final time to clean and organize camp gear, wrap up the adventure, and celebrate the week with a well-earned ice cream stop.

This camp is equal parts adventure, learning, and community. We truly feel like this is an experience your child won’t forget!

  • Age and Skill Requirement: Ages 9 – 13, High Level 5+please review skill levels before registration to ensure proper fit for this camp. This camp will have one group of combined ages/skill levels.
  • Bike Requirement: Properly fitting two-wheel pedal bike. Front and rear hand brakes required & gears strongly recommended.
  • Camping Gear: Wheel Kids will provide meals and basic camping equipment for the overnight trip; campers will need to provide their own sleeping bags, sleeping pads and a way to carry their stuff

Hit the trails, make new friends, and have a blast! Our after-school mountain bike rides offer kids a fantastic opportunity to explore nature, learn biking skills, and enjoy the thrill of outdoor adventure in a safe and supportive environment. We’re going until the time change!
